Upside Crown: On the verge of oblivion
16/06/13 || Ironpants
Welcome to Global Domination – where we keep it metal.
Yeah I know, sometimes we let some other stuff in, and I for one is to blame for some of it. But even I have limits, just because I appreciate prog rock or some other borderline metal stuff it doesn’t mean that I am totally insane (?). Upside Crown sent their EP and hoped that someone here at GD would have a good day when listening to their stuff, unfortunately for both parties, that wasn’t going to happen. I’m sitting here trying to be open minded, but sometimes when you are too much open minded, the brain falls out.
This isn’t metal, not even close. Take “In Flames” and put out the flames, cross it with “Linkin Park” but do it when the park is closed. Throw in a clean-singing only dude that sometimes tries to be a little rough and add a shitload of keyboards and you’re done. This is pretend metal for airing at commercial radio stations, and there’s maybe nothing wrong with that, but we are not a commercial radio station (yet). I’m sorry guys, even if it’s well produced (hey, they are Fins, and then you know that it’s good sounding), and well performed, this isn’t the stuff that makes the world a better place to be in.
I’d rather do snow angels in a puddle of puke than listen to this again.
2/10: Yes, they are on the verge of oblivion.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
